Winter Detox For Your Teeth

Here at Newberg Family Dental, we can’t help but to notice the buzz this season about juicing, cleansing, and detoxing. Sure it is the New Year, and your health might be top of mind, but we think your health should be a priority all year long.

We also think that going on a fast, diet or detox should be well thought out. The winter months make it difficult to take care of yourself, so the detox you do is important. But we suggest rather than doing a detox for you body do a detox for your teeth.

Here is a 3-day Winter Detox that can help you feel vibrant, healthy and alive. Maybe your skin can improve and your teeth condition will improve as well.

Drink More Water

Drinking water will help you detox your entire system. It cleans out the body and removes food particles from your teeth. If you do not like the taste of water, you can add flavor by putting in lemon, lime, fruits or vegetables into your water. Water can act as a mouthwash to help remove toxins in the mouth and flush them quickly out of the body, which can help you avoid cavities.

Use More Cinnamon & Mint

Cinnamon and mint are great ingredients to add into your diet. Cinnamon helps regulate blood sugar. Both ingredients can freshen your breath and it helps produce salvia flow. The more saliva in your mouth the more it can push bacteria out and avoid unset of cavities. Cinnamon helps to relive toxins. You can always chew cinnamon or mint sugar-free gum for an added bonus and cleaner teeth.

Sweat Once a Day

If you aren’t exercising often you may feel lethargic, crabby and tired. The human body is made to move and moving it daily will help you feel better. Sweat everyday for optimal health. Moving the body is critical to a healthy heart, body and smile. People who work out feel better about themselves and often smile more. We enjoy getting out into nature. Nature has a natural way to calm the body mind and soul down.
